Philosophy in Educational Thought: A Moral and Intellectual Inquiry
Kazi Mahfuza Haque, Assistant Professor, Department of Ethics and Equality, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh
ABSTRACT
In the overall education system, science is important, but it is just as important to include ethics and humanity with it. Because of the progress of modern science and technology, people are enjoying many benefits, but the loss of values has made it difficult to build a truly humane society. That is why the education system should not only teach information or technical skills; it must also include humanistic and moral education. This article discusses the ethical and human aspects of the modern education system. It explains the current crises and possibilities of education in the light of the educational philosophies of Rabindranath Tagore and Bertrand Russell. The main goal of education is presented as the development of humanity, morality, and the ability to think independently.
