ABSTRACT | ||
The word co-operative literally means collective or joint effort. When a number of people engage in an activity for the purpose of achieving a common goal, it is essentially a cooperative program. In this article, I want to show how the organizations that were inspired by the philosophy of Ramakrishna Vivekananda in the late 18th and mid-19th century, among the various programs adopted by them, the development of women was one of the programs - how they implemented that program. At the time when Sri Ramakrishna or Swami Vivekananda emerged as a guide, the trend of social reform in Bengal was at the forefront of the question of women's emancipation. Therefore, in order to resolve their helpless situation, the society developed anti-sati-burning movement, cohabitation consent movement, anti-child marriage movement and above all efforts to spread women's education. Raja Rammohan Roy and Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar who took a leading role in women's emancipation. | ||
