Narayan Gangopadhyay's literary career began with poetry. And in this poem he advanced on the path of this establishment as a short story writer. However, Narayan Gangopadhyay painted a picture of the life of that apocalyptic period in short stories that can't be told in poetry. Because he was born into the horrors of the First world war and the madness of the Russian Revolution, and when he grew up, it was the madness of the second world war. A strong protest against World war, smuggling, black market, starvation, poverty, exploitation and oppression became inevitable for the humanitarian Narayan Gangopadhyay. So Narayan Gangopadhyay look short story as a tool. A time collision may shape a writer's vision of life. Time may give the material to the writer. Then the responsible and humane literary person became the artist of the age. In term of content, Narayan Gangopadhyay has selected stories and characters from various contexts and categories. Age artist wrote stories in the context of war, riots and faminers. Thus by seltering these he finally attains an eternal being. Regardless of time, the country has accepted the people of different classes of society such as strongmen, hoarder, black marketeer, tea garden coolie, state owner, priest, educated, santali woman, geo-tourist, historian Rai Bahadur etc. He had no choice any class. He chose characters from all walks of life. His presentation style was amazing introduction. Narayan Gangopadhyay excels at creation multi-dimensional characters. That is why his character does not end in time, but is etemal. | ||
