ABSTRACT | ||
Although four twentieth-century literary and artistic figures worked in different genres and forms, there was a remarkable similarity in their creative vision and thought. They placed indigenous elements at the very center of their creativity. Their modern intellectual pursuits were not shaped by reading foreign books or adopting foreign materials. Instead, the nation and its native cultural elements constituted the ultimate foundation of their artistic and literary practice. | ||
