medieval Bengal, making important contributions to building strong connections
between Bengal and the outside world. During his reign from the Ilyas Shahi
dynasty, Bengal gained prominence on the international stage. Notably, his
forward-thinking diplomacy and support for the arts and culture helped boost
Bengal’s global reputation. Moreover, showing his deep passion for culture and
literature. On the other hand, Sultan Ghiyasuddin Azam Shah sent an envoy to
the famous Persian poet Hafiz Shirazi, asking him to complete a verse of an
unfinished poem. Additionally, guided by a strong religious sense of duty, he
founded madrasas and hospices in Mecca (Makkah) and Medina (Madinah), while
also providing financial aid to local residents. By rejuvenating historic
cultural and trade links between Bengal and China, he promoted increased trade
and diplomatic relations between the two nations. In Addition, during his era,
the port of Chittagong became a key hub for international trade, a crucial

standing. In this context, this research paper will explore how the Sultan
Ghiyasuddin Azam Shah effectively enhanced Bengal’s international relations
through his diplomatic and cultural efforts. | ||
