ABSTRACT | ||
Society and literature basically change with time.
Bengali literature also changed over time. Characteristics, stories and
techniques are also changing. The city of Kolkata has repeatedly appeared in
Sibram chakraborty’s writing. His female characters created and centered almost
around kolkata. He introduced the identity of modern women. In his literature
we can see men are typically poor characters. But the women play a huge role of
his writing. In his writing women basically brave, strong and outspoken person.
He did not consider women to be neglected creatures in a patriarchal society.
He has shown different aspects of women in his short stories, plays etc. In his
writing women sometimes appear as lovers, as wife. Most of the images depicted
are of woman from Kolkata city. And most of the female characters in his works
are real life characters. Some are his sister, his lover, his niece, his aunt.
He wrote about teenage as well as adult. He shows brave women who leaving her
home for her lover. In the other hand women are so angry when her husband comes
late. He understood a women wish. He has been able to portrait the psychology
of women in his literature. | ||
