ABSTRACT | ||
From the very dawn of civilization, the role of women in society has been extremely significant. However, society has never readily been willing to grant them recognition. Despite this, women have never retreated from the struggle to claim their rightful rights. Set against the backdrop of the 10th–12th centuries, Dombi, a character in Selina Hossain’s novel “Nil Moyurer Joubon,” is one such indomitable figure. Although the novel features multiple female characters, Dombi stands out as unique in her personality, love, and spirit of protest. Her radiant and powerful presence continues to inspire awe even among women of the twenty-first century. | ||
