ABSTRACT | ||
The Ramayana composed by the great poet Valmiki is the most prominent among the four principal Aryan epics. Moreover, it is the pristine epic of the primordial poet. The Ramayana is the holder and carrier of human culture of India as well as of South East Asia. Our civilization and culture are cherished and observed under the aegis of this epic. The Ramayana acts as a spiritual guide to the morality of people, religiousness and to protect existential crisis. The events of Ramayana uphold divine principles and human value and it make the core of religion concrete. Lord Rama had steadfast trust for righteousness and truth, Sita upholds the concrete image of womanhood, honesty and a faithful wife, Lakshmna represents renunciation and bravery and Hanuman is the symbol of selfless loyalty and devotion. These characters broaden the path of communal harmony and spiritual upliftment. On the other side Indian Hindu philosophy and Buddhist philosophy preach that attachment and illusion lead people to wrong path. Consequently we get detached remotely from the realisation of worldly truth. Like the characters of Ramayana we become errant for impiety, pride and uncontrolled desire and finally we face fall. The Ramayana determines a set of duties for people. The characters of the Ramayana prove that how the giving up a personal interest leads to greater interest and help greater social upliftment. The path of communal harmony and spiritual upliftment broadens through love, affection and respect. We also get the ultimate lesson of life I.e death is the only true and beautiful. The battle of quality among the characters opens up the direction of moral and spiritual education in this stinking world. | ||
