Rabindranath’s Dance-Dramas: Love versus Justice—An Observation Pricila Sultana, Research Scholar, Department of Folklore, University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi, Bangladesh
ABSTRACT | ||
This article analyzes the conflict between love and justice inherent in Rabindranath Tagore’s dance dramas Chitrangada and Shyama. This conflict is not merely emotional; rather, it is rooted in deeper crises of self-identity, morality, and socio-cultural structures. Through an examination of dramatic characters, symbols, philosophical ideas, and social contexts, the article brings to light this dual experience. Tagore’s two dance dramas thus offer fresh perspectives on modern feminist thought and humanistic ethics.
