The Nature and it's Diversity in the Works of the Mediaeval Woman Poet Chandrabati Humayun Kabir, Research Scholar, Dept. of Bengali, Cotton University, Guwahati, Assam, India
ABSTRACT | ||
As the attraction of humans towards nature is innate, connection is also innate. The form and mystery of nature, the human child of nature, are revealed to writers from time to time in different forms and in different variations. Poet Chandrabati has has described about the nature or environment in her ‘Ramayana’, ‘Sundari Malua’ and ‘Dasyu Kenaramer Pala’. In Chandrabati’s ‘Ramayana’, the poet has used natural elements of nature to describe the happy life of Sita in the presence of Ramachandra in the leafy cottage of the Panchavati forest. Shakuntala, deer, peacocks, and Shukshari, etc. have accompanied Sita Devi in the Panchavati forest. In the narrative of Chandrabati, the poet has used the context of nature in the context of the intense sorrow and separation of Sita’s character. In the description of the ashram of Valmiki Muni after Sita’s exile, he has also used natural elements such as animals, birds, plants, etc. to create a sweet environment of the ashram. In the ‘Sundari Malua’ poem, nature has become meaningful in many ways. The use of nature in describing the proper form of the village of Aralia is consistent with reality and is a very familiar background. The poet has also shown the expression of the calm and gentle form of nature in the background of the meeting of the hero and heroine. The image of nature is also captured through the twelve months composed in the changing natural background of the six seasons in this poem. The poet has shown the background of the image of nature upset by the death of the heroine. In the ‘Dasyu Kenaramer Pala’, the image of the natural background is consistent with the brutal and cruel activities of the bandit Kenaram. While describing the physical appearance of the robber Kenaram, Chandrabati Devi has taken an analogy from the natural environment of rural folklore. The poet reflects the nature of rural Bengal as seen through his daily eyes, sometimes in the form of metaphors and sometimes in the form of a favorable environment related to life.
