This paper
discusses the role of Burdwan Royal Family's Queens and Princess in
"Divine Service and Public Welfare".They played vital roles in
administration, religious deeds, social welfare and political spheres. People
still remember Rani Brajakishori Devi, Rani Bishankumari Devi, Rani Radharani
Devi , Rani Kamalkumari Devi, Princess Satyabati and others with deep
respect.These Queens managed Burdwan Zamindari administration with great
efficiency.They participated various religious institutions, temples and public
welfare.Not only royal inner quarters , they played significant roles in
society and state.They established examples of leadership by overcoming the
social barriers of their times.They also played important roles in the
expansion of education, service of poor and public welfare programmes.So,
Queens and Princess of Burdwan Royal Family will remain for ever in our hearts. | ||
