Playwright Chandan Sen’s
plays have highlighted various problems in society. He has shown his skill in
portraying social sense. Along with various scenes of society, the life of
women has been perfectly portrayed in his plays. As he has talked about the
struggle of women, he has also highlighted the self-respect and individual
freedom of women. He has attacked the norms of patriarchal society. Women will
always be manipulated and used according to the will of men. He has broken this
idea in his play ‘Karnabati’, ‘andhagali’, ‘jahanara jahanara’ etc. The
protesting voice of women can be heard in these plays of his. | ||
