Although woman is known as the better half of man, throughout the ages she has been insulted, humiliated, and kept veiled in various ways. The inner world of such a woman has rarely been brought to light by others. Bankimchandra, however, with deep fascination, has beautifully portrayed the diverse forms of women and their psychological conflicts. At times, he has depicted women as lovers, at times as daring figures, and sometimes as sorrowful beings. He has rendered women extraordinarily beautiful through their grace and charm. | ||
