ABSTRACT | ||
The folk culture of Bengal, especially in
the Rarh region, shows a deep connection between people, nature, and religious
belief. It is a way of life where daily activities, faith, and environment are
closely linked. Rituals like Jitashtami, the worship of Keshabasini, and
Malancha Devi show how people mix spiritual belief with their real-life needs.
These traditions are not only about prayer. They help people deal with fear,
sickness, uncertainty, and problems of life. In these practices, both good and
harmful forces are respected. People worship gods and also symbolic animals
like foxes and vultures. This shows how humans try to understand fear, death,
and danger in their own cultural way. Women play a very important role in these
rituals, and they help keep these traditions alive in families and communities.
Nature is also very important in Bengal’s folk culture. Trees, crops, and
plants are seen as symbols of life, growth, and stability. These beliefs also
help protect nature. These rituals bring people together and reduce social
differences like caste. Overall, the folk culture of Bengal shows a strong
vision of unity between humans, society, and nature, where everything is
connected and meaningful. | ||
