The history of Bengali music
is rich in the tradition of Kabyageeti. From the ancient Charjapadas to the
modern era, Bengali music has evolved through the contributions of numerous
poets, lyricists, composers, and musicians. Over time, Bengali music has spread
its charm across the Indian subcontinent, incorporating new musical styles and
enriching the Kabyageeti tradition. Atulprasad Sen, one of the Panchakavi (five poets) of
Bengali literature, pioneered the Ghazal genre in Bengali Kabyageeti. Although
his Ghazals are appreciated, he is not widely recognized as a successful Ghazal
composer. This paper aims to shed light on the unknown aspects of Atulprasad
Sen's Ghazal compositions and explore possible answers to questions surrounding
his work. | ||
