ABSTRACT | ||
‘Winkle Twinkle’ (2002) of Bratya Basu is a political play highlighting the contemporary political ideals and differences. This dissertation aims at the crisis born of dreams and disillusionment of two main protagonists of the play. It also tries to find out the contemporaneity of the play after almost a quarter of a century. With his selfless values Sabyasachi dreams of an ideal society, Indra despite being the son of an ideal father joins the opposite political camp. This paper delves deep into the psyche of present generation to find how do they perceive such defection. ‘Winkle Twinkle’ is used to search the reason why living in a political backdrop today’s youth turns his face from politics. Hollow substanceless present generation owes its origin to the repeated shattering of dreams and this paper aims to highlight it. | ||
