ABSTRACT | ||
In Bengali prose literature,
Ramendrasundar Tribedi occupies an important place. His essay collection ‘Jijnasa’
presents a unique synthesis of science, philosophy, and literature. In this
work, he attempts to explore humanity’s eternal questions, the pursuit of
knowledge, and the mysteries of the universe. Firstly, the scientific
perspective in ‘Jijnasa’ is very clear. The author explains various scientific
topics through logic, observation, and analysis. Subjects such as nature, the
universe, matter, and energy are examined in the light of scientific facts and
theories. Through this method, Trivedi tries to cultivate a rational and
inquisitive mindset among readers. Secondly, the depth of philosophy in this
work is also remarkable. The author does not merely present information;
rather, he reflects on its deeper meaning and significance. He expresses
philosophical thoughts on issues such as human existence, the origin of the
universe, and the nature of truth and knowledge. Thus, philosophy here is not
simply a collection of ideas but a path toward deeper contemplation about life
and the world. Thirdly, the literary beauty of ‘Jijnasa’ is especially
captivating. The language is simple, lucid, and rich in expression. The
essayist presents complex scientific and philosophical ideas in an elegant
literary style. His use of metaphors, examples, and descriptive narration
attracts readers and makes difficult concepts easier to understand. Therefore,
in ‘Jijnasa’, science provides logical foundation, philosophy adds depth of
thought, and literature makes the expression graceful and engaging. Through the
harmonious blending of these three streams, the work truly becomes a confluence
of science, philosophy, and literature. | ||
